The 50th Birthday Bash in Vegas is history! BGHS ’76 alumni and their spouses met up the weekend of October 17-19, 2008 at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for dinner, drinks, and… well, we’re not telling.

Stampede 1976 The yearbook is meant to be kept for a lifetime, but things happen (flooded basements, angry ex-spouses, shortsighted teenagers who didn’t buy a yearbook – hey, we understand). We’ve got you covered with an online version of the book – click here. The entire 214-page book is here, including the introduction, fall and winter sections, all the portraits, the faculty/academics section, the organizations & sports, and the literary/art section.

The Charger Did you save your copies of the school newspaper? We didn’t think so, but fear not. We’ve got two issues so far for you to read: the 16-page senior June issue and the March issue recapping President Ford’s appearance.

More than 100 members of the class of 1976 plus their guests had a great time Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Hyatt Hotel in Deerfield, IL. Even a few teachers came to visit and make us feel special. Many alumni who were in town stopped by Buffalo Grove’s homecoming football game at 7:30 p.m. and then headed on over to the Fox and Hound for the annual multi-class social.

Inspired by seeing old friends at the 30th, Frank Perrino wrote a poem to try and capture some of the emotions he felt that night. Click here to read it.

I Love You, Beth Cooper by Larry Doyle It’s graduation night 2007 at Buffalo Grove High School, and valedictorian Denis Cooverman’s brutally honest speech is just the beginning of a night he’ll never forget. This coming-of-age novel is full of familiar names and places, but the humor and themes ring true no matter where you’re from. Larry’s book went on sale in May 2007; you can read an excerpt here, and order from Amazon here. His work on The Simpsons and other TV, film and print projects should give you some idea of what he’s capable. Was your graduation night anything like this?
